Flowers For Spring – March Int’l Bloggers Club

Hi, friends!!

Welcome to another month of our Int’l Blogger Club Monthly Challenge! As you already may know, I teamed up a group of bloggers from around the world and each month we are sharing different topics and traditions, and I can tell you it is really fun! Last month we talked about Easter, and this month we thought Spring would be a nice thing to talk about, and even share with you the flowers we have in our countries.

We did some research to find out our national flower, and the one for Spain is carnation. I don’t know who is in charge of deciding each country flower, but I haven’t seen carnations in balconies or gardens since I was young (younger lol!). But you can really see them in the south of Spain because they resist the sun very well. I guess even we live in the same country, we have different climates so our flowers are different too.

Here in Mallorca you can find lots of different wild flowers in the fields, most of them daisies.

You can find also lots of almond trees, oranges trees and lemon trees.

Today some friends asked us to meet and enjoy the wonderful weather we’re having these days. The kids could play together, and I could help them with an organic garden they are planning. The place where it is supposed to be was full of flowers, so we had to take them out. Flowers for spring - Int'l Bloggers Club

It was a shame to just throw them away, so we decided to use as many as we could and make some arrangements. Flowers everywhere to give us joy! Proserpina is back so her mom is happy!

Despite we live on an island it is green as you can see. This winter has been odd and it didn’t rain too much, and it’s not been cold either.

After dinner, kids wanted to go egg hunting so we improvised a map, some clues and some badges.

They had a great time looking for the things we hide, and we enjoyed seeing them team up and work together.

After that, it was time to get rid of the dry wood and sticks we took out the garden, and we thought having a bonfire would be a great idea. Flashlights, songs, stories, fire… is there anything better?

So these are basically the flowers we can find on Spring around here, what about yours?

I can’t wait to see my friends’ flowers, I hope they have been luckier that me!

Pili. I was looking at your pictures and thought I was in Greece. Exactly the same landscape Even the big tree with the thorny leaves. It is son nice to see that your girls are able to enjoy the outdoors. They look so happy running around among all the flowers. You know we also light the fires to get rid of the extra branches. I will send you some carnations from my country! We have them year round

Isn’t it curious we have the same vegetation and traditions? The girls are happy when they are outdoors, climbing trees and discovering interesting things, and I love they can appreciate and respect Nature.

Pili, the wildflowers are beautiful!! Great pictures!! I love how flowers can bring a bright and lovely touch to a room!! It sounds like you and your kids had a wonderful time at your friend’s home!! I hope the garden planning went well! Thanks for sharing the flowers in your part of the world! 🙂

Hi, Keri! Yes, the wildflowers are beautiful! We had a great time, we will keep with the garden some other day! Thanks for visiting, glad you like our flowers.

Hi Pili! Mallorca looks beautiful, similar to Andalucia, lol, but there are lots of carnations here! What we love most about living in Spain is being able to be outdoors all the time except for those two or three days of rain a year…It’s great and the BEST way to grow up for kids imo. In Germany we actually make an Easter fire to get rid of winter, it looks like you had an amazing time with your friends!

    • Pili says:

Hey, Katrin! Yes, Mallorca is really beautiful. This landscape is from the inner part of the island and it’s very different from a costal one. I agree with you, the best thing in Spain is the amount of time we spend outdoors.

Each of us try to show a bit about our country and traditions, we think it is a real way to show others about other cultures.
Thanks for the tip on the link #, I haven’t thought about it.

We have lots of lemon and orange trees here, as well as almond trees. When they are in bloom it’s our particular “snow”.

    • Pili says:

Yes, flowers make everything better. I love Spring and the color explosion of the flowers in bloom. Tulips are amazing, too hot here for them though.

Thanks for visiting, have a wonderful week Erin!

How fun, it looks like you had a great day! Lots of hard work, but lots of fun too. And ending the day with a bonfire is tops in my book.

I love seeing the difference between the areas all of you in the Int’l Bloggers Club live in, it’s like taking a trip to each place. How cool to have almond, orange and lemon trees at your disposal! I would really love that! Thanks for sharing your home!

    • Pili says:

There are plenty of fruit trees here in Mallorca, Nikki. When the almond trees are in bloom people say it is our own “snow”. The fields look so pretty all white!

Glad you like our series, it is fun for us too to see the difference in places and traditions!

      Have a great week!

It happens the same to me, Morgan. With the first flowers of Spring, my mood begins to change and days being longer helps too.

      Thanks for visiting!
