Frozen box and notepad

Hi everyone! How are you doing? We’re not having too much good weather these days, so it’s been great to finish some projects I had.

All of you with little daughters know about Frozen fever this year. And you also know about the hectic social life they have; almost each weekend there is a birthday party, meeting with friends or any other kind of activities. For the birthday parties we try to surprise them with a handmade gift, thought especially for them. We think that doing something by ourselves instead of buying something in a shop makes the gift more special.

In this case the girl was mad about Frozen: she had the movie, the customs, stickers, cologne… so the gift was clear, it had to be something related to her passion. Searching through the storage room I found a box I bought some time ago, the girls helped me to paint it while I was doing the design with Photoshop.

My girls decided which images had to be used, and we add her name as well.

I printed the image and glued it to the box. When it dried I painted the border with a sponge to achieve a nice finish, and then two coats of varnish.

When we finished the box we thought it would be a nice idea to make a coordinate notepad so she could keep it inside the box as well as some crayons or paint. She loved the gift and her friends too.

Wow!! Amazing job – it looks so professional. Great idea to apply varnish over the top to hold the image in place. It’s really great to upcycle & get the kiddies involved too 🙂 #WAYWOW x

I love this! I have an (almost) three year old, who adores anything princess related. We haven’t watched Frozen yet, but I’m certain that she will be obsessed, but this is a great idea for any of the princesses…. I’m glad you shared it!

Pili, I love this! I worked as a cake designer when Frozen was HUGE, and we designed so many Frozen cakes. I designed one that was three cakes high with a staircase and a castle on top, it was covered in snow flakes and glitter, it was gorgeous! It is so cool that you did this with and for your daughters, they will have the talent for making things and know the value of a handmade gift! I love it.

This is so amazing! I’m curious though, how did you print the images? I’m guessing it’s not just a regular printer and paper. Either way, it came out beautiful and I’m so glad you shared it with me. #FridayFunday <3
