Grain Sack Style Tray

Hi! I hope everyone is doing great!

As you know, I’m fascinated by stripes. You must have seen when I redid the bed for a spoiled dog and I wanted to do something else, so when the other day I was walking by a thrift store and saw this tray I could not resist!

The truth is that I first thought of painting the whole thing and do the stripes in another color, but as it was in perfect condition I thought I would make a small change.

I took masking tape, measured to find the center and pressed down firmly to stick it and prevent the paint from running underneath. I did the same for the other stripes. Now it was time to paint, and I did it with the homemade chalk paint as it works great and no sanding before is needed.

I gave a couple of layers to cover well, and when it was dry I removed the tapes.

And here it is, the truth is that I love the result! What do you think? It does not take much work to change any object.

Hugs,

Pili

I think it looks amazing! I was actually thinking of doing something similar in the near future. We’re planning on re-furnishing the family room, and something I was looking at is a ottoman-coffee table with a tray on top. Something like this would work perfectly! #FFBH

Oh I really like how this turned out Pili! With all the craze to paint everything, I love the little touch of paint you gave it to give it a bit of character while still showing the beautiful wood. Nicely done! Thanks for sharing this with us at Talented Tuesday.
