How To Make DIY Lavender Sachets

Hi, everyone!

My motto is decorating for little money, so today I bring a nice, quick and inexpensive proposal. I made some scent lavender sachets for the closets, but you can also make hearts, cushions or other things you can think of.

You just need some scrap fabric, beautiful prints and a sewing machine.

The first thing is to choose the image you want, I used lovely French style ones. Karen from The Graphics Fairy has tons of them. Then I looked a few scraps of fabric and prepared to make the transfer. If you do not remember how it’s done you will find the explanation on how to transfer on fabric in less than five minutes. Finally, I saw the bag leaving an opening to fill it with dried lavender, and close-stitched it. Now we have it ready to perfume our closet.

Another terrific project! Love these. I am heading over to your transfer post because mine always look terrible and yours are perfect. I am going to see what I am doing wrong.

Thank you so much, Katrin!! I never manage to keep any flower alive, but I confess I know the reason… I forget to water them. You can fill in the sachets with rice and any scent too.
      Gracias por pasarte!

Lavender is a favorite scent of mine. I think these sachets would be perfect just about anywhere too! Thank you for sharing at Merry Monday!

Yes, Amanda, that’s a good idea too! They could be great as Christmas gifts as well.

I love this idea. And I love the smell of lavender. So fresh and calming. We had a lavender plant outside our front window, in the spring the wind would blow and our house would fill with the scent of lavender through the open window. Loved it. Using your trick I can have the smell of lavender all year long. And I love the prints you used! Thanks for sharing at #WAYWOW!

    • Pili says:

I love lavender as well, but I must admit I’m not able to have any plants… I forget to water them. I know, it’s difficult to understand and I’ve tried my best, but they don’t last more than one year 🙁 But I keep trying!

Those are beautiful!! What a great gift idea for someone who has that theme in their home…or just loves lavender, like me! Thank you for sharing with us at the #HomeMattersParty

    • Pili says:

Yes, cotton is one of the best, but you can use any other kind of fabric. Just make sure is not a rough fabric with big spaces between the fibres. The more “compact” the fabric the better.
