Papier Mache Letters

Hi everyone!

We moved into our new house three years ago; the girls were two and a half and four years old. They were going to share a room and I wanted to make them feel it was their room, only for them. I asked which color they wanted for the walls and they obviously said “pink!!”.  When everything was done I still wanted to add something they could feel as unique, something that nobody had. So I thought I could do both names on papier mache, decorate them and hang them on the wall.

As all of this happened before I started blogging I don’t have any pictures of the process, but you can find a great tutorial here.

Once the names were done I only needed to add some pretty paper to make them stand out. That’s easy, take some glue and add some water ratio 1:1, apply with a brush all over the surface and then place the full sheet of paper on it. Now go play with the kids and let it dry. Then took an x-acto knife or similar and cut all the paper around the name, and finish painting the sides and back with any color you like.

They turned out so nice that I made one for my oldest son who was in love with everything related to graffity. I left it in white so he could paint it as he liked.
