Spice Rack Turned Into Essential Oils Holder

Hi, guys!

Welcome again to the second and last reveal of the Thrift Store Swap! Last week I showed what I did with the items I was sent, so in case you missed it you can find the hanging wooden hearts.

My second item didn’t survive the trip from UK too well, it came with a little side broken. Nothing serious, don’t worry, nothing a bit of wood glue can fix. Thanks Evija for not sending glass 😉

I feel I bit silly sharing this makeover because it is so simple it really doesn’t require it. It can’t be simpler.

I glued that little side and used some clamps overnight to keep it in place. The next morning I just filled the holes with wood putty and sanded it when it was dry. Then I took some (aff) chalky paint from DecoArt, the color Yesteryear. It has a beautiful blueish/grayish color that would be perfect for my bathroom.

I varnished it and added some eyelet screws on the back to hang it on my bathroom wall. Then I filled it with some natural creams, essential oils, and Bach flowers essences.

My oldest daughter found a new use for it, she hangs her necklace there before taking a shower. I have to say I like her idea!

I love that this rack helps to declutter the drawers and have everything at hand. I hope it inspires you to deal with the mess the drawers use to have.

Don’t forget to pop by to Molly’s blog Just a Little Creativity to see what she’s done with the things I sent her. I’m super curious, I can’t help it!

Pili, this is such a clever upcycle. I like the color you chose, very relaxing color. Your daughter is very clever to hang her necklace on it. This is really a wonderful way to organize essential oils.

What a perfect way to display and store essential oils Pili. Ours are always stuck in a cupboard somewhere and the bottles are so pretty, they should be on display for everyone to see.

Pili this is so cute. I know with kids and especially girls in the house, there is never enough storage room for all their things. This is a cute and practical way to add lots more. And your girl is very smart to use it as a hanger too.

Love the colour Pili and storage is always welcome, you did well in adding all of your natural remedies! Mine are also cramped in a basket somewhere, this would be great for my bathroom too!
