As I told you in previous posts, I am decluttering while finishing some projects, and this last weekend it was the turn for the old wicker basket I brought from my mother in law house along with some other treasures; you can read about them here and here.
It had a beautiful shape, and I could imagine it with a new glory with a bit of paint. This is how it looked before
Isn’t it cute? It could be great as a caddie, or to hold some flower pots, you name it. But it was in desperate need of a makeover, so I decided to try a new paint I hadn’t had tried before and… I am now in love with it!!
I want to make it clear that this is not a sponsored post, and they have not paid me to talk about the paint. It is just that I am amazed! My old wicker basket only needed one coat to get it covered as you see in the picture. As I painted it at night I waited until the next morning to paint the bottom, but I could see the color was really cool. I used Primitive from DecoArt.
It dried very quickly, and it was ready to serve some tea.
I couldn’t help leaving you a “before & after” picture.
I am thinking in other uses for the basket, and I have some ideas so I hope I can share them soon.
Thanks for visiting, have a wonderful week!
Hugs,
Pili

Pili! I love your basket ! A fresh coat of paint was just what it needed to give it an updated look. You know my husband bought me that same exact paint from the States a few months ago. Other ladies get flowers and jewelry, I get paints.
Mary, paint-what a perfect gift for you!! 🙂
I know, I was so happy, because you know there is no chalk paint to be had here in the boondocks. Boy did I ever pick the right name for my blog!
Lol! That’s hilarious! I love that he brings you paint, that’s just awww!
Pili, this is super cool!! I love the paint color you chose!! Those teacups look sweet in the basket!!
Thanks Keri, I haven’t sold this one, I like it so much I keep it for me.
Pili, ok, I haven’t gone to Leroy Merlin yet, but I will have to soon, did you get the paint there??? I love the tone, and the wicker basket looks so lovely!!! Great choice, what a change!
Katrin, so sorry for my late reply! No, you can’t get that paint in Leroy, they have another brand but it has nothing to do with this one from DecoArt, I just love it
