Incredible Tips for Finally Quitting Smoking in 2017

If you have been following me on Instagram you may have seen I’ve been in a detox / cleanse mode recently, and eating raw food for a month has been an amazing experience. I’ve felt so good and with so much energy that I plan to incorporate raw food in our meals. I have a Pinterest Board full of yummy and healthy food in case you are wondering what I am talking about… Well, in fact, my beloved husband kind of joined me and he decided to quit smoking (I don’t smoke thankfully), so for me, that is really great news!

Smoking is one of those things that most people hate doing. Besides the fact that it severely negatively affects you health, smoke is also bad for people around you. Unfortunately, in order to quit smoking, you need a lot of sacrifices. The very fact you no longer have the ability to take a puff with morning coffee or after a stressful situation is a big inhibition by itself.

One of the biggest problems preventing people from quitting is the fact they cannot imagine themselves never again lighting a cigarette.

Good thing about the process is that there are certain steps you can take that will increase your odds of succeeding. In order to make it, you shouldn’t simply quit; you need to subject yourself to several minor processes that will bring about bigger results.

You also have the help of natural products to help you with the process. Without further ado, let’s check all the steps you need to take in order to quit smoking in 2017.

  1. Mental preparation

First thing that needs to be done prior to officially quitting is to get prepared mentally. When it comes to smoking, it is all in your head. Most people find it hard to quit as they haven’t made the real decision. Somewhere in the back of their head they know that smoking is bad for them and they need to eliminate it. However, they are not 100 % prepared for the change. This is why their rehabilitation is rather lackluster and stops after a few weeks or if they’re lucky, after a few months.

  1. Setting up goals

Smokers usually think that quitting smoking is something that needs to happen overnight. You simply stop consuming cigarettes and problem is solved. But as we’ve seen it times and times again, this is very hard to pull off. The restrictiveness can be very severe especially for people who have been smoking for years and years. So, instead of going all out make sure to create goals that are easy to accomplish. For some smokers, it will be enough to simply find a replacement for cigarettes. For example, starting to use e-cigs with vape juice bottles might be the solution you’ve been searching for. Not smoking during weekend can be a solution for others. Always try to set goals according to your wishes and what you think is possible to pull off. Some people like to do it week by week; they focus on not smoking for a week and after week is over they set up another goal for the next one.

  1. Remove anything that reminds you of cigarettes

Another problem with cigarettes and tobacco is the fact that we often get reminded of them. Each time we get reminded, there is a chance of relapse. This is a problem that can be solved by removing everything that associates you of your vice. First thing you should do is remove all the cigarettes. After that, you should also clean your home thoroughly. Smoke will penetrate curtain, carpets and other fabrics. This smell is really strong and should be dealt with as soon as possible.

  1. Go outside and train

Both training and going outside can be great for you. First of all, let’s discuss about going out part. As I previously mentioned, smoking is really common in closed quarters. In fact, many countries prohibit smoking in public which means that by simply staying outside for a longer time you increase chances of not being able to smoke. Fresh air is also great for your body and can present another incentive not to smoke ever again. When it comes to training, it is a different kind of beast. People who train require much more air and their lungs work overtime. Due to this, it is really hard to continue doing both of these things. So, if you decide to dedicate yourself to training and healthy life, your wish to smoke will decrease over time.

Although smoking may seem as an enormous hurdle, there are various ways to tackle it and retain your health. All you need is to change your lifestyle and smoking (or lack there off) will soon follow. Hopefully, these tips will help you do just that!  I decided to design a funny print for my husband so feel free to download it and use it to help you to stop smoking too.

Good for you Pili. I wish you the best of luck on your non-smoking journey. It is very prevalent here too and what makes it extra hard is that no one respects the laws and they all smoke in public places, which is kind of sad. You are doing yourself and your family good.

Thank you Mary. In fact it was my husband who quit smoking, I have never smoked. I am glad he took the decision and he’s sticking to it. It is so important for his health. Thankfully it is not allowed to smoke in public places here and most of our friends don’t smoke so it makes it easier
