Hi, my sweet friends!!
I don’t know if you remember I paired up with 19 other talented ladies to bring you a monthly Thrift Store Decor Upcycle Challenge. Each month we will create a new home decor piece from an item(s) we’ve found at a thrift store, yard sale, resale shop etc. There is no budget or specific theme so we are free to let our creativity run wild! Last month I shared this chalkboard makeover and this month couldn’t wait to show you one of my latest acquisitions!

I got this pretty side table some time ago, but I was busy finishing other things in the house so it waited outside patiently until her time arrived. The first thing I did when I bought it was taking a picture before loading it into the car… you know, most of the time I get so excited about painting it that then I forget.
It was in perfect condition but after being outside for so long the elements did they work and the veneer started to chip. I removed all I could and then sanded the whole top.
It was now ready to paint!
I chose a pretty blue from DecoArt, “Serene” it is the name. I really love that paint, it covers wonderfully with one layer as you can see below.
I decided to use a different color for the legs and chose “Primitive” also from the same brand. I used some extra scrap wood I had to not worry about painting the floor. You can see what I did with some other scrap wood I had here.
I applied some dark wax on the top and sanded the edges to give it a worn look.
To make the details on the legs pop I painted them in the same blue color.
And finally last weekend we moved and she is now in a special place. Love how it looks and that will be my corner to relax, read, blog, dream, and plan!!
I will be seating there to check out what the other ladies have done with their thrift store finds! Don’t forget to stop by their blogs to check out too!
Thanks so much,
Pili

Your table looks so nice refreshed with paint. I’m a big fan of DecoArt paint. The two colors that you used look great together.
I love your table. The colors you chose make the details come alive. And the colors are so serene and calming.
Thanks!! I have not painted too much in blue, but I love how it looks now!
This table is beautiful! Serene is one of my favorite colors! Love how you added it to the detail on the legs. It really pops!
Pili, love the makeover you gave the table!! The blue color is beautiful. Is that your new place? Love that corner and how you styled the bookcase. Blessings on you and your family in your new home. 🙂
What a sweet little table – and it looks perfect in it’s new home. 🙂
And now it’s in your new home, this is wonderful, you have your own special corner with the pretty table. I am very impressed with the look (I’m also making one that is very similar) but what really sets yours apart is the detailing on the legs. Love that so much. And of course, I really like the paint!! Enjoy your table in your new home Pili.
What a lovely transformation, the colors you chose are so pretty and the combination is beautiful.
This really is pretty. I love the colours, and will definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for a table to try this out on 🙂
