You may think I have been idle but the truth is I haven’t. I’m working on several things at a time I can’t manage to do it all! I guess you understand what I am saying…
Once summer finishes and we get into fall we start preparing things for Halloween. It’s a fun celebration for my daughters, as our Spanish neighbors are not used to it, and they love to see their faces when they see our decorations. If you like you can see our easy Halloween decoration.
At the same time, miss A’s new room requires my time and work. It’s a teeny tiny room and trying to get the most of it is a challenge, thought I’m sure we’ll succeed.
Talking about tiny rooms, my sister in law asked me to help her decorate a small appartment because she plans to rent the rooms, and that’s a real challenge!! So here I am, trying to get some inspiration to transform a regular apartment (5th floor without elevator) into a special one so when people come to see it they can say: ‘I want it!’
The first thing I’ll work on will be the living room and the kitchen.
The good thing about the open plan kitchen is it seems bigger. I know, not everyone here in Spain is a fan of that open floor plan concept but I love it. I had a house with it and it was fantastic to be cooking while talking to the rest of the family, watch the kids playing and sharing with friends in a party.
Back to what I was talking, I found this picture on the internet while searching some inspiration.
Isn’t it amazing it seems the same kitchen?? I love the wall paper and the bar stools are really cute. It won’t be easy to choose the bar stools because I like them all. Being honest, I need some pretty ones but at the same time I can’t forget it’s a rental apartment so I need them to be functional as well.
Here there are some other inspiration open floor plan kitchens like this one with its nordic and minimalist style.

Right now I think to myself, what a shame I live in a rental home because if I own it I would whack the kitchen wall down and open it to the living room, but for now I have to focus on decorate the apartment.
Stay tunned because I’m sure I will be able to share soon the changes, the painter finished last week, next week some furniture is arriving and I have in mind some DIY that I hope they end up as nice as I envision them… Wish me luck!
