Hi all!!
I found this pretty damaged table and I thought I could do something with it. Have I told you I need to redo almost everything that falls into my hands? First I sawed the legs because I wanted it to be kind of a coffee table. As this happened at my beginnings of redoing furniture I thought it would look good with a nice transfer on it, so I ripped it off, and then painted it white.
I found a cute image, enlarged it with Photoshop and transferred it. When it was done I sealed it with varnish and the table was on our living room for some time. The thing is that we have a quite long couch, so the table looked pretty “poor” in front of it but it was going to stay there until I found something I liked.
Nevertheless, it was my girls the ones really in love with that table; it was always full of crayons, papers, Legos and whatever they could find on their way. I am sure it was the right size for them, not so short as the standard you can find on shops, and wider… That made me think that the table needed to be for kids and had as many uses it could, so I decided to apply black handmade chalkboard paint on the top, and gray handmade chalk paint on the legs. Bingo!! All kids love that table.
What do you think? Do you like it too?
Hugs,

Pili, This is a great redo! All kids would love a chalkboard table. Even I would want one!! And now you have to find another table for the living room. More projects for you!!
Thank you Mary! Our house is full of chalkboards, we love to doodle from time to time and no need to share if we decide to do it at the same moment. I found another table for the living room but for the moment I’ll leave it alone 😉 Too many other interesting things to do!
What a fun redo project, twice! I’m sure the girls love having the chalk board table now! I like it too.
Thanks for sharing with us at the Merry Monday party.

I’ve been wanting to do a table similar to this for my daughter’s room. Looks great!
Thanks! It is a really easy project if you have the table already. Chalk paint can do wonders.
I bet the kids love it. I’m curious as to how the chalkboard surface is holding up to the kids playing?
Hi Brianna! It has 3 coats of handmade chalk paint just in case, and by now it is holding up great. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Audra! Don’t be afraid of getting rid of Dora, you kids will love having a chalkboard table, it’s cool! You’ll see how they take their friend into the room to try it

What kid doesn’t love to be able to write on a table!? I know my 2 year old does, thankfully with easy clean crayons, but I may have to considering painting his table in black chalkboard paint now! Thanks for sharing this great idea! #FridayFunday <3
Lissette if you paint your table with chalkboard paint I can tell your kid will love it!!
The chalkboard top is such a fun idea!!
The girls and all their friends love it!
My niece & nephew would love this! I’ve got to get some chalk paint! Thanks for linking up to #frifree4all 🙂
Hayley, I’m sure they would love it! You can make your own chalk paint, the recipe here: https://sweethings.net/diy-chalk-paint/
What a great idea, I love the way it looks and imagine the girls use it all the time. What’s more fun than being allowed to write on the furniture!!!
And I’m sure this made them feel really special. A spot of their very own. You are a great Mom, Pili!
