Finding the Perfect Wedding Gift Without Breaking the Bank

Hi, friends!

Spring is here to stay and this means wedding season has started. This year we only got one wedding invitation -at the moment- and searching for the perfect wedding gift is not an easy job.

It’s great to be able to celebrate love and commitment with a couple who is special to you. Whether the happy couple is your friends or family, you want to give them a gift that shows how much you care. Unfortunately, the cost of wedding gifts can add up quickly, especially if you’re in the season of life where a wedding invitation seems to show up in your mailbox every month. If you’re searching for a wedding gift that’s budget-friendly and well-received, you can follow these simple tips.

Think About the Couple
This seems like a basic step, but many people hit the store without really thinking about what the couple needs and wants. If you know the couple closely, take some time to think about their living space, hobbies, and interests. Do they always go running together on the weekends? Are they passionate about movies? Do they want to take up camping? Considering their interests is the first step to finding the perfect gift.

Turn Small Gifts Into Something Special
When you take a look at a registry, it’s easy to get overwhelmed when you see $300 china place settings or pricey kitchen tools. These things make great gifts, but they might simply be out of your budget. However, you don’t want to give the couple a washcloth, garlic press, and candle since they are the cheapest things on the registry.
Turn small gifts into an impressive present by focusing on theme and presentation. Sure, the garlic press might not be an adequate gift, but you can purchase several reasonably-priced kitchen tools and add them to a basket with a few favorite recipes for a truly special gift.

Use Your Talents
If you’re really strapped for cash, you can still give a wonderful gift by using your talents. When you give a homemade gift, you can be sure that no one will replicate it. However, it’s important to ensure that your gift is something the couple can actually use.
If the newlyweds love rustic style, consider making a last name sign to fit with their home’s farmhouse decor. If you’ve been quilting for years, consider putting together a quilt for their queen-sized bed. You can even offer the gift of services! If you’re an amazing cook, give them a certificate for a delivered homemade meal once a month for the first few months of their marriage.

When you use your creativity, you don’t have to be limited by a small budget! This is exactly what Evija from the blog From Evija With Love did as a wedding anniversary present for her husband, but it would be a meaningful wedding gift too.

Thank you so much for showing my DIY anniversary present! 🙂 It definitely was made with love and is super special for both of us! I will be making another sign like this for my friend & her husband to be!

I still remember the first time I saw it, it is a project of love for sure. What a meaningful gift for your friend!

These are super special ideas Pili and I have to agree with you. You don’t have to spend tons of money on a wedding gift when you’ve put a lot of thought and love into something the couple will appreciate and use for years to come. I always find a handmade gift from the heart means far more than just buying something at a store

Pili, These are all great ideas! I really like the idea of offering the couple home cooked meals once a month. Also the gift basket and farmhouse sign are wonderful gifts. Evija did a beautiful job on the sign!
