Hey friends!
Does it happen to you that after the holidays you need more holidays to recover? Yep, that’s my case.
Well, in fact, the kids had holidays but we didn’t have holidays so maybe that’s the reason I am exhausted… Anyway, we are not going anywhere for the following four months so I still have time to plan. Because going to visit my mom in Barcelona next month doesn’t count, it’s so close that I don’t consider it ‘holidays’. I’d love to go further, much further.
There are many popular destinations to visit around the world, and the US happens to be one of them. If you’ve been before, you’re probably aware of what an eclectic and memorable place it is to visit because of the many things there are to see. In addition to this, no matter what your interests are, there’s typically something for everyone. Here we all agree that there are still some places in the US that we want to explore.
We were reading about the most popular must-see spots in the US and we found that there are four that appear all the time: Yellowstone National Park, New York, San Diego and Miami Beach. We’ve already been to New York and Miami Beach so we understand why they are considered a must-see. Difficult decision!
Yellowstone National Park
For those with a deep appreciation of nature, Yellowstone National Park is a must-see destination in the US. In this Park, you’re likely to see multi-colored pools, hot springs, and meadows. You can experience 3,000 plus square miles of mountains, canyons, and waterfalls. One thing that you can do in Yellowstone is to visit the Old Faithful which is a renowned geyser that is said to erupt every hour and a half. In addition, perhaps think about hiking up the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone or Hayden Valley. Beyond these things, there are many natural wonders that you can enjoy.
This is one of the places I have wanted to visit since I was a kid. One Christmas I got a jigzaw puzzle similar to the picture above and I fell in love and decided someday I will visit it.
New York
You’ve likely already heard a lot about New York as a result of it being a fashion capital and home to many historical sites. In light of this, it’s a destination to think about going to. One of the most common things to do in New York is to enjoy the shopping scene. You can then go on to become a tourist for the rest of the time and explore popular sites like the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, or have a picnic in Central Park.
You should also think about going to the Broadway Circuit to see a few theater shows if you enjoy that form of art and entertainment. This also happens to be one of the many Vacation Rental Destinations who you can easily sort accommodation with, which is even more reason to go.
New York is amazing in winter especially at Christmas, but I have never so cold before! I tried to cover every inch of my body to keep warm 😉
Walking through Central Park. The snow had melt and it seemed a different place.
San Diego
Located in California, San Diego is another must-see spot in the US. Like Florida, this is another sunny destination that you can expect to experience sunshine almost all year around. If you happen to enjoy beer, then you’d enjoy the craft-brewery scene. The San Diego Zoo is also another site attraction that you should see as its home to over 3,700 animals. Other activities worth doing in this sunny city is sunbathing and visiting the museum.
Miami Beach
Similar to San Diego, Miami Beach is another sunny city you should see. It is popular for some of its world-class clubs as well as the many beaches that you can relax on. There’s also the chance to enjoy fine dining and luxury hotels. You could even see celebrities if you happen to go at the right time of the year.
If you have a chance to go further down to Homestead you can visit the Coral Castle, it is an impressible place with a romantic story and full of mystery.
When you go to the US, there are certain monumental spots that are worth seeing. Beyond the ones mentioned above, there are many more located in different cities and states. Seeing as it isn’t likely that you’ll be able to cover all grounds in one trip, it may be worth putting going back again in your foreseeable plans.
So now it’s time to decide. Have you been to any of these must-see spots?
Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,
Pili
I’ve been to New York a few times but never any of the other three. All great suggestions!!
