15 Different Uses for Drawers

Hi, everyone!

You know I love to upcycle things, and last week I found two drawers. One of them is quite big and the other is small. The small one is holding some of my craft supplies, but I was wondering what to do with the bigger one. So I headed over the internet to get some ideas and I found quite a lot of good ones and I want to share them with you.

What great ideas for re-using an old or new drawer! You are so very creative! I am so impressed with all the different ways to use them! I really like the shelf ladder, it doesn’t take up much room and would be perfect for a bathroom! Thanks for sharing!

    • Pili says:

Hi, Tricia! I love re-using or re-purposing things we have at home. I think the shelf ladder is great too.

What a fantastic collection. I particularly like the lamp that has been made out of draws. It’s been done in such a clever way.

  11. Winepine says:

Great idea. It’s customary in my home to remove shelves to lighten the weight of an armoire or chest of drawers that’s on it’s way out. Now I know what to do with the drawers!

One question: Have you ever tried similar projects with wooden wine crates? They work well for planters and shelving options and give a chateau-chic accent to the decor.

If your looking for original wine boxes or crates for future decorative projects visit Winepine

    • Pili says:

Hi! Yes, wine crates are wonderful for crafts projects as well. I’ve used them several times, but I still need to set up the post to show them.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Love you wine crates!

Yes, I feel the same!! I have some drawers here and can’t decide which one to do!
      Thanks for visiting!

  18. Becky Davidson says:

Love all the different ideas… Really like the one for flower planters. What would you use in the bottom of the drawer to protect it from the water, when watering your flowers??

    • Pili says:

      Hi Becky,

I would take a thick plastic and attach it to the drawer with a staple gun. I guess that would help the wood not get soaked when watering the flowers. It may need some holes at the bottom for drainage.

  19. Kathy A says:

Thank you for the great roundup. I am planning to do one as a bathroom shelf; I hate woodworking so I am going to cut small dowels to fit into the desk drawer divider grooves. It will be turquoise with flamingo paper on the back so it goes with the tacky tongue-in-cheek decor!

    • Pili says:

Kathy I am sure it will look stunning! Turquoise and flamingo paper make a great combo, I’d love to see it when you finish it

  20. maria says:

This is such a delight to look at. I could spend all day looking at these kinds of amazing projects with drawers. One is more cuter than the other.
