Welcome to another Thrift Store Challenge post!! If you remember, I’ve paired up with 20 other talented ladies to bring you a monthly Thrift Store Decor Upcycle Challenge. Each month we will create a new home decor piece from an item(s) we’ve found at a thrift store, yard sale, resale shop etc. There is no budget or specific theme so we are free to let our creativity run wild! On one visit to the thrift store, I found a cute bamboo cane tray that had seen better days. We are setting up the patio in the new house and I was sure it would look great there, it just needed some cleaning and painting.
I used vinegar to clean it because the back spots were mold. I guess it spent a lot of time outdoors but apart from that it was in good shape. I took my white DIY chalk paint and added some blue and green to get this aqua color. I really love summer and all these bright colors. 
I needed two coats of paint for full coverage, and two coats of matte varnish to protect it.
I couldn’t wait to bring it outdoors! We are still working on the patio, but I love how it looks on our pallet table.
Even the bunny was curious about what I was doing and came to see it.
There is no easiest project than this!
As you can see, I really love that color and I’ve made several things using it. I hope I can show you soon my finished patio! Be sure to check out all of the other creative upcycle projects my fellow bloggers have come up with!

Pili I really love this color. It is so fresh and summery. I cannot stress enough what a difference a little paint can make. I also love what you did to the votive with the paint.
